At the moment there are no varieties resistant to FAW. You should employ IPM measures advocated by FAO and partners

What measures to take against this pest ?
It cause serious damage to our crops especially maize both in the dry & rainy season.

Scout for eggs masses after planting. Squash them. Also, try to encourage natural enemies. Check advice in our app about 5 years ago.

Some varieties have been engineered in Brazil with Bt Genes (Bacillus thurigiensis). However FAW showed resistance after a few cycles. So, still not quite a clear varietie that can solve this. Others ways have to be explored
