Storage pests of cowper and soybean follow the cowpea and soybean from the field to the stores. The best approach is to put grain in Purdue Improved Crop Storage (PICS) bags especially for grains (not seeds). PICS bags take out oxygen from the insects in the bags and they die off. For seeds, use pesticides and use it safely. Remember the seeds are not for consumption.

1. Ensure field hygiene. 2. Avoid too close spacing. 3. Ensure timely weeding. 4. Consult a nearby extension officer. 5. Use clean planting materials. 6. Proper management of crop residues after harvesting. 7. Be mindful of the intercrop you use because some crops are affected by the pests.
