It looks like prickly pear (also called as cactus fruit) belong to the genus Opuntia, family Cactaceae. The fruit can be consumed directly or used for culinary purpose. In Mexico it is also used for medicinal purpose.
The fruit surface contains small spines, called as glochids which can penetrate the skin easily. So properly remove the spines before eating the fruits.

Fruit called "tuna"; Very cultivated in Mexico ( mostly in San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas and Estado de Mexico.
