Unless you can find seed in India, shipping costs will be expensive. Here is one source: $3 for 3 seeds, plus $7 for international shipping (but it looks like there's a $10 minimum), so that'd be $17 total.

BUT
there may be restrictions on importing seed or plants of fruits. I didn't read the whole document, though.

SO probably your best alternative is to find a source in India. Are fruits sold in the markets? Can you find a seed seller in India?

This is posted on behalf of Rikin Ghandi of http://www.digitalgreen.org

"It seems starfruit may be better propagated by stem cuttings. There are seeds that are available but they tend to be less successful in terms of germination.

Some contacts:
- Bagalkot: Shirur village (20 kms from Bagalkot) - Contact Dr. Athani at +91-9480077891.
- Dharwad: Contact Dr. Sanjeev Kulkarni at +91-9448143100 (his farm is ~5 kms from Dharwad) or
Mr. M. V. Patil at Guddada hulikatti village (about 30 kms from Dharwad) +91-9481284612."
