about bioinoculant

General    india

I am doing research in the field of Biofertilizer and my testing crop is groundnut plant. I have isolated plant growth promoting rhizobacteria and i formulated into a bioinoculant. To test the efficacy of this biofertilizer for the groundnut plant I am doing a field study.

However, since we cannot sterilize soil in fields it might contain more number of native microbes so how can i prove that the growth of the plant is due to my inoculant.

You are conducting a trial with one treatment. This is the inoculant. You need to choose a control plot that is the same as the plot where you apply the treatment. You should have replicate plots. So, many plots with groundnut and incolulant and many without. Exactly how many depends on what you think you will find. This is called the effect and researchers often do a power analysis.

How many plots do you think you can do? What can you afford to do?

It is important that the control and treatment plots are started at the same time.

What are you measuring? Number of nuts, growth?

Please provide more information and we can help you.

Thank you so much sir for your valuable suggestions..........you mean to say that by comparing control plot effect of my inoculants on plants can be predicted..........other than this is there any alternative method to prove the effect of bioinoculants on plants??????

The way I describe is the standard way. Measure the plant growth or yield between plots with and without treatment
