Cannot tell the difference between a brussel sprout plant AND a collard green plant.

Brussels sprouts    None Given

I thought I was growing collard green but now there are bumps forming on the stock and this makes me think I have a brussel sprout plant instead. Do I?

Kim commented,
I am having the same problem. Got seedlings from a friend who thought they were Brussels, but I am thinking at this point they must be collards because they haven't developed any sprouts.

Brussels sprouts produce sprouts in the leaf axils of the plant from the base upwards. As more leaf axils emerge, as do more sprouts. I have attached an image to show this. If the bumps are appearing like this then it may well be brussels sprouts. Please provide an image if you can

If you see bumps, it is brussel sprouts for sure, just take one of them and smell it, you will see!

Those are definitely Brussels sprouts.

Nurseries screw up more than they'd like to admit. (I know, I own one!)

The problem with cauliflower, collards, broccoli, etc. is that they're all bred from the same original ancestor... meaning they look a LOT alike until they start maturing.

My suggestion? Buy some butter!

Here is a picture of my broccoli (left) next to the mystery plant. Any idea if its collard or b. sprouts?
