Holes on sweet potato leaves

I live in Dubai and I am new to gardening. I have a single sweet potato plant just for decoration. Holes started to appear in the leaves. Initially they started as a brownish transparent spot which later becomes a hole. The plant gets good sun all day long.
A picture of our sweet potato placed for decoration mainly, recently these holes started to show up.
This is a close up of the holes, its a transparent area that then becomes a hole.

Answers
It could be due to white plume moth (Aciptilia niveodactyla) or grasshopper damage. The young ones of both insect scrape the leaf surface leaving behind lower epidermis. The later stage insects feed on leaves by making numerous holes or sometimes feeds on the entire leaf blade leaving only the petiole. You can hand pick the insects and destroy them or spray neem or garlic solution.
