Something eating pepper plants

Pepper, bell    None Given

Something is eating all of my pepper plant leaves, from habenero to bell, but moreso the bell peppers. Any ideas what this might be and what I can do? I haven't seen any bugs actually on the plants.

Thanks!

Hi Nicole - could you edit your question to provide a bit more detail about what is happening to your plants? What do the leaves look like? Are they completely missing or do they have holes in?

Might be helpful also to know your zone; some pests in your zone might not be a problem on peppers in other zones.

I caught the culprits in the act this morning - they were brown beetles, I think known as May beetles. They were eating the sides of all of my pepper leaves, leaving the stem in tact with bite marks all around. http://hyg.ipm.illinois.edu/pastpest/...

Look down at the base of the plant. If you see nothing, then rub around the stem. I bet their is a been worm; they are difficult to see. Despite knowing one plant was stripped & I got the worm, I couldn't find it on another plant. It was stripped & then I could see it.
