Tomato    South east South Australia

My tomato seeds have been planted since early September (southern Australia) and still have only their first leaves. They are in a hot house and look heathy. What can I do to speed them along?

I will suggest one possibility. If you are growing them in a potting mix, they may need a dose of liquid fertilizer. Many times I have seen young plants that look fine, but have settled into a sort of equilibrium where they do not continue to grow as expected. The peat-based potting mixes often provide only a starter amount of nutrition.
