Cercospora

Coffee    NorthCarolina

My coffee trees are about 10-15 years old. They developed cercospora this fall, about 5-6ft tall. I cut the damaged leafs off but still developing new lesions. How can I save them?

Hi Susan,
Are you sure the spots are Cercospora leaf spot?? For me they looks like insect damage. Can you please upload few more photos.
Thanks

I tried to send more pictures but I'm not sure where they went. I'm mostly positive that's what it is

Copper fungicides such as Kocide products are normally used against this pathogen.

Fungicides available in market:
Champion WG Agricultural Fungicide
DuPont Kocide 101 Fungicide
Griffin Kocide DF Dry Flowable Fungicide/Bactericide
Griffin Kocide 101 Fungicide Wettable Powder

Once you eliminate the current infection make sure your sanitation practices are effective as well. A coffee grower I work with was controlling with fungicide, but had previously infected leaves left on the ground at the base of trees. Make sure all plant debris is removed from the growing around because the pathogen can hang out on the ground for an extended period of time.
