David Hughes commented,
are you growing a few strawberries or is this a commercial, farm scale production.

This is actually a very complicated topic that I learned about over many lectures in school, so I don't know if one post will be sufficient. There are many papers free online that go into the details of using plant hormones on strawberry, specifically BA and GA, so I would recommend reading a few of those for more detail. Generally for a home gardener or small-scale production this is definitely not a needed application for strawberries. Correct pest management, weed management, and fertilization should be enough to optimize strawberry production. Also, choosing the proper type of strawberry is important too. There are 3 types of strawberry groups: single season, ever bearing, and day neutral. Day neutral are the only ones that respond positively to plant hormone application.

Just a warning, if you do end up playing around with applying plant hormones make sure you apply the exact amount and the precise type recommended. The smallest miscalculation has been known to completely destroy crops by even the most seasoned fruit producers.

Here are a couple papers the can get you started in the right direction for more information on this topic:

Agree with Kathryn, BUT would emphasize the benefits of "ever bearing " varieties for the home / school garden. We have about 2400 sq. ft. (220 sq.M) in ever-bearing strawberries and we get 3-5 distinct " crops" from late April thtough June, with stragglers thtough September. No one crop is overwhelming, but the steady production is a boon for the "garden to table" grower. Photo shows fruit (ripe and immature) and concurrent flowers on ever bearing strawberry.
