Lettuce seed

Lettuce

Four days back I had seed the lettuce out side in a shade and the medium used is coco peat. I watered the seed by spraying thrice a day, after three days when I dig to see the seed I don't find any seed. As it is my first practice of seeding the lettuce. Can any one suggest how exactly to seed.

To increase the lettuce germination it is ideal to sow seeds in raised beds because raised beds warm up faster than the surrounding ground. And sow the seeds about 1/4 inch deep, tamp down with thumb, and water.
Also we have to keep in mind that seeds will not germinate if the soil temperature is 80 degrees F and above.

don't plant the seed to deep as light is required for the lettuce seed to germinate .
