Is this CMV virus on my passion fruit plant?

General    None Given

Hello.
Three months ago I bought a Passiflora Edulis.
After a week its leaves started to fall but new leaves grew up.
I put it inside a bigger pot and placed it on a south facing terrace.
Now it has bigger and greener leaves but I noticed these spots.
According to me it is the cucumber mosaic virus.
I don't understand if this virus will kill my plant.
What can I do?

Agree with you. The disease is caused cucumber mosaic virus (image attached). In Passiflora the virus mainly transmitted by aphids, pruning tools, plant sap, parasitic plants, grafting and to some extent through seeds. Cucumber mosaic virus has large host range including weeds. The main symptoms are appearance of mosaic and chlorotic spots on older leaves.
If few leaves are infected, remove the leaves and burn them. Also try to located aphids and kill them by hand or spray strong jet of water to knock them off. Place this plant away from other plants to avoid spreading of virus.
If the disease is mild, the plant can withstand and recover after sometime.

Fortunately only few leaves have these spots.
I'm going to cut them.
I saw no aphids, anyway, what about spraying a little bit of insecticide?

Dr. Ravishankar Narayana commented,
Since it is household plant it is better to spray organic insecticides like neem oil or essential oils (like thyme, peppermint, clove, and rosemary oil) or insecticidal soap.
