What are these caterpillars on my kale

Kale    Pennsylvania

My kale in central Pennsylvania, has been ravaged by these caterpillars. Anyone know the species or genus?

The caterpillars look like cross-striped cabbageworm, Evergestis rimosalis (pyralidae family).

caterpillar are due to butterfly and can be avoided by given a neem oil spray. the smell of neem oil repels butterflies.
