Spikes are without seed

Wheat    None Given

Spikes are without seed. This is found in patches, especially at the bounds of the field. There are no symptoms in the adjacent wheat field. What could be the cause.

This looks like bird feeding damage especially if the affected plants are in areas near the tree line.

Rupinder Singh commented,
Thanks Clayton! In this field, wheat crop is at the dough stage. It was sown 20 days earlier than the rest of the wheat crop of the area the reason being that birds are mostly targeting this field. Birds were feeding on this field early in the morning and remained un-noticed in the afternoon or in the evening.

Rupinder Singh commented,
Yes of course it's mainly due to bird infestation. Already commented in my earlier feed. Thank you Aghajani!
