White spots on tomato plant leaves

Tomato    None Given

I just planted a veggie garden for the 1st time! I did buy a tomato plant that is in a separate pot from the rest and today I noticed these white spots on the leaves and some broken type leaves. I don't know much yet about growing veggies but I'm learning! Can anyone tell me what this could be and if I need to throw the whole plant away or what should I do? Thank you!

Hi Julie, welcome to PlantVillage - great to read you're getting started with a veggie garden! Generally, plants are very sturdy creatures, so definitely don't throw the plants away as long as the majority looks healthy, as in your image. I agree with Ravi's assessment. Good luck!

No need to toss the whole plant. Pinch the leaves off with the patches. The rest of your plant should be just fine!

The symptom on leaves is due to sun scorch. Remove the affected leaves. And provide shade to plant during afternoon intense sunlight. Also water the plants regularly.
