Giant(ish) Pumpkin with white patch

Pumpkin    None Given

Growing in Epsom, South East of UK.
It was planted out a bit late, but has made good progress and is about 45 inches around.
It was grown from good seed.
I only water at the base of the plant.
I have kept it under a black piece of fleece to try to protect it from sun and cold.
The weather has been pretty good, the only thing is that the night time temperature did drop quite dramatically the other night. Could a sudden Chill cause problems?
The issue is that I noticed today a white patch and am really concerned that it may be some kind of fungus or bacterial infection, but can't find any images that look like this.
Also a couple of the leaves closer to the fruit have some bright yellow patches, could this be related?
Anyone know what might cause this?
And if so, is there a treatment?
Thanks in advance.

deactivated commented,
I understand that cooler temperatures (50's F) will actually make plants bloom more..unless it was actual frost it shouldn't damage your plants. Your Beans etc look very healthy..they would have been affected as well. The marking on the top right of your pumpkin is just an abrasion.. Do you think the black covering could be "blanching" the pumpkin? Have you recently rotated it? Nice set up by the way, has its own little nest :]

Paul commented,
Well I've been away for a couple of days and it doesn't appear to have gotten any worse, so that's good.
It's even grown a little more :-)

Cut if off of the vine and left it out to ripen - it's looking fine. Didn't get much bigger, weighs about 30 pounds, 13.5 Kilos. Lots of pumpkin soup this year :-)
