Avocado tree leaf help

Avocado

I have a 1 yr old avocado plant that is 2ft with is kept as a hour plant. The tips of the leafs had been turning slightly brown but i cut it off and no harm was done. However the lower(older) leafs have been turning brown but more like drying up at the tips and around the edges. In some cases it is even dotted around some of the leafs. I am becoming very concerned because lots of the leaves are 'drying up' and it has almost consumed a whole leaf. My avocado plant is still young and Im not sure why it is happening. I believe it could be salt accumulation but the dotted brown dried up parts dont match the diagnostics. Perhaps it is two different things effecting the plant? Any response will be much appreciated, thank you.

I had a similar problem with my avocado plants and I posted a question here

https://www.plantvillage.com/posts/14...

Have a read through the answers that were provided, they were very detailed and helpful and hopefully the advice will aslo help you with your problem which I think is the same as the one I experienced.

This was one of the answers from Pam Dunker:

"Avocado plants in pots are very susceptible to leaf tip burn from either sodium or chloride salts, far more so than many other plants, so other plants receiving water from the same source may not show any signs of stress. Compounding the problem is the fact that in potted plants the water cannot dissipate into surrounding soils as when planted in the ground. Another contributing factor is that most potted plants will never attain the size of outdoor plants and smaller plants - because they are smaller - cannot distribute water soluble nutrients and minerals across more plant material so the presence of salts may appear to cause more widespread damage. Some varieties are more prone to salts than others but all avocados share this sensitivity".
