Baby avocados turning black

Avocado    None Given

We have a beautiful avocado tree that has a lot of large avocados on it and numerous small ones as well. We just noticed that a LOT of the baby ones are turning black. What is going on??? Have had very hot weather and leaves on tree are drooping a lot. It appears that we might have overwatered it recently as some of the leaves are turning yellow. Is that part of the problem or is there something wrong with the new ones???

Drooping and yellowing of leaves may happens due to improper watering, poor drainage or root rot diseases caused by Phytophthora, Armillaria, etc. Especially poor drainage and water logging conditions favors root and crown diseases and other problems like root asphyxiation (ie.,non-availability of oxygen in soil). So loosen the soil around the tree and provide proper drainage. Also water only when it is necessary.
