Greyish scum forms in water
Kale Missouri
While washing kale off from store there was a grey ish scum that formed on top of water I had cleaned sink and rinsed all chemicals away before filling sink with water, water was clear until I placed the kale in it to wash away bugs any known reason why

Answers
It is possible that the residue is a very fine mineral kaolinite clay product which is sometimes used for pest control especially on organic crops.
