NEEMA commented,
cassava variety have been classified into sweet variety and bitter variety and this is due to the level of hydrogen cyanide which is toxic, It is advised to eat cooked cassava roots, leaves to release the hydrogen cyanide. For the bitter variety means they have high content of cyanide hence they have to be processed in many steps one of the ways is to grind the roots and compress to release water (that contains a lot of cyanide) also processing it to flour and many other ways. Yes some cassava variety are toxic. hope it is clear. Thank you

for the bitter variety means they have high level of cyanide hence needs to be processed in many steps example some can grind the fresh roots and compress to release water ( water removed contains high cyanide) also processing to flour. hope it is clear
