If you plan on planting the coconut palm then you must choose a spot with well-draining soil. Coconut palms require regular watering but it is not good to leave them sitting in standing water so it is very important that the soil is freely draining. The palms grow in a wide range of soils from sand to clay as long as they are well draining and well aerated with a pH between 4.3 and 8.0 (see https://www.plantvillage.com/en/topic...).
