Coconut palm home care

Coconut    None Given

I'm planning to buy a coconut palm that's about 5 m tall and already yielding. I don't want it to die like my banana when I bought it from the nursery they died few weeks later. So what type of soil should it be in? How much water does it require? How much fertilizing does it need? Thanks

If you plan on planting the coconut palm then you must choose a spot with well-draining soil. Coconut palms require regular watering but it is not good to leave them sitting in standing water so it is very important that the soil is freely draining. The palms grow in a wide range of soils from sand to clay as long as they are well draining and well aerated with a pH between 4.3 and 8.0 (see https://www.plantvillage.com/en/topic...). Here is a really nice publication all about the care of palms in the home garden.
