Thick white layer in the pod

Bean    None Given

I've noticed a thick-ish white layer inside the pods of the beans that wasn't there in the first two harvests. I haven't noticed any mold or disease on the leaves or the beans, just this layer inside. The plants seem a bit healthy aside from some bug-eaten leaves, and are continuing to germinate new beans. Can anyone provide some insight on what this is, and if it's safe to eat?

Mark,
We have the same symptoms, associated with wet weather. There is no pathogens/other harmful microbes inside, and I think it is safe.
