Why do Kale leaves have white spots?

Kale    None Given

I have two small kale plants. Since planting them 2 weeks ago, I've noticed small white spots on some of the kale leaves. Is this a bug? Are the leaves still edible? Is it indicative of too much water or too few nutrients? The hay bale has just started sending up mushrooms, too, right next to one of the kale plants. I also have a tomato plant in the same bale and it seems to be fine so far. I'm in Central Arizona, in Yavapai County, about 25 miles SE of Prescott and 1 hour north of Phoenix. We're at 4200 feet (~1300m), so it's cooler here during the day and overnight. Temperatures are now around 50F (10C) at night and 75-90F (24-32C) during the day.

Looks like it could be Albugo candida (white rust)
