This year I have gotten two fruit so far of my fig tree that has this growth coming out of it. It is a semi-hard substan

This is the first year that I have had this growth on two of my figs so far. It is a semi hard substance almost like a Rudy feel to it. So far only two. Any idea what this is. I've not seen it on any websites

It looks to me like the unripe inside of a fruit above it. bees, birds, and other insects bore into a fruit and drop some onto fruit below which dries out. you might investigate that possibility.
