if it's fall amry use caterpillar force at 20g / knapsack.. stray directly into the funnel of the maize..

that is fall army worms effect, use insecticides with A.I of profenofos and cypermethrin to control worms.

Please ask or contact ICIPE to be linked or connected to any "Dream Team" member for a simple biological control (parasitoids). Using pesticides could be more expensive, dangerous to humans (who eat fresh maize), and the environment

This is fall army worm infestation. To treat, get caterpillar force and apply at recommended dosage as appeared on the insecticide. You mix it with water. Apply very early in the morning before the sun rises, target the funnel of each plant stand affected and apply judiciously. The worms are migrating type and they attack very late in the night and very early in the morning. That's why you treat the infestation very early. Treat again if you notice their attack.
