Orange tree with sticky leaves

I have a little citrus tree as a houseplant; recently it's developed a sticky substance on its leaves, which are beginning to droop and fall. What treatment should I follow?

Have you noticed any kind of insects on your plants? Aphids, mealy bugs, and scale insects produce honey dew which could be the sticky residue your noticing. The leaf in the lower right corner seems to have a tan bump on the leaf which could be a citrus scale insect.
