Chubby White leaves?

Avocado    None Given

I have numerous Avocados growing from the pits. I have two however that don't have the green leaves like the others. They have what looks like chubby white leaves. They are not bigger than 1/2 inch each but look pretty healthy. I'm wondering what they are and why? Hoping someone can shed some light on the subject? Thanks!

I think it is sunblotch disease caused by Avocado Sunblotch Viroid (ASBVD). This viroid alters the growth and development of infected plants. The disease mainly transmitted through cuttings and seeds. The main symptoms are yellow or white discolorations on fruits, leaves and twigs.

Please remove the infected seedlings and destroy them.

Sue Long commented,
Thanks Ravi, but how would a avocado seed get sun blotch disease if it is not in the sun?I know that sounds stupid but I'm curious. I'm trying to understand this. Are certain seeds just carriers of this viroid? The leaves are not yellow or white discolored. Just all white and thick, almost like a succulent type leave.. Very odd!

Dr. Ravishankar Narayana commented,
The disease named as sun blotch because the symptoms appear as sun blotch or sun scald. But in avocado this symptom is caused by viriod (viriods are submicroscopic particles of genetic material). In general the mature tree display yellow or white discoloration. But according to some research paper they suspect that the albinism in avocado seedlings may be due to sun blotch viriod.
