White balls on plants - insects or disease?

General    None Given

I have been finding some little white spongy balls on my buckthorn leaves and my pomegranate fruits! Don't know what are they or how to get rid of them
Please do help

These look like spider egg sacs. What kind of spider? Not sure, but they won't damage your plants.

I don't think it's wooly aphids as I've never seen them here before !
Besides it doesn't move when I touch it so I believe it's spider sacs

Might be mealybugs; hard to tell from these photos.

Also do a google image search on mealybugs because you won't necessarily see the body parts. They often appear as a bit of cottony, sticky fluff.
