The leaves on my tea tree are falling off?

Tea    Pennsylvania

The leaves on my tea tree are turning brown and falling off. There is some new growth. Can anyone help me out and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Have you recently moved or repotted the plant? Is it indoors or outdoors?

I re-potted it after I got it. And I put it outside when it's nice out and bring it back in at night.

Can you be more specific about the plant? Tea tree could be several different plants.

I grow pomogranet trees for my tea. Don't know what u r growing. Until summers end there are always some brown leaves - I ignore them. Perhaps there is too much alkalinity in ur water? Use gypsum.

Many plants drop leaves under the stress of moving and repotting. Since you have new growth, I would not be concerned at this point.

I'm not sure from the pictures, but it may be Camellia sinensis. That will produce a shrub, not a tree. If that is what you have, I would just leave it outside until fall. It is hardy to about 7b, and my C. sinensis shrubs (little leaf variety) outside survived -5F this winter.
