It is very hard to diagnose the problem without seeing images. Generally it may happen for many reasons like
1. Water logging condition combined with poor drainage reduces the oxygen availability in soil and causes rotting of roots. As the roots die, they can no longer absorb water resulting in browning of leaf tips.
2. Accumulation of excess salt around root zone due to poor drainage also causes browning of leaf tips.
3. Deficiency of nutrients particularly potassium causes browning of leaf edges.
