Reuse of compost

Sometimes I do have a plant that gets aphids or just dies of stress or any other reason and it has good soil? Can I reuse it specially if I kept it in the sun and sprayed it with neem oil and some baking soda for any fungus contamination ? or shall I not reuse it

if the plant had problems with aphids and they were removed then re-using the soil is OK
