I have a mature zucchini plant that started forming a gooey white residue at the base of my stem? What is it and how do I treat it!? I'm worried it will spread to my other surrounding plants.

How do you deter squash bugs naturally?

Do you know of any ways to deter squash bugs? I regularly scout for eggs under the leaves and destroy them, but always seem to be over-run by them anyways. Any good companion plants or natural treatments that will repel them?

Best way to pollinate zucchini?

Hi all. I wondered if anyone could tell me the best way to hand pollinate zucchini? I have tried using a paintbrush in the past and will likely do so again with this seasons plants. Is there any huge advantage in detaching the male flower and using it to pollinate the females? Thanks

Why would I grow squash on hills?
